Together, my brothers, my sisters, we are going to begin a new struggle, a sublime struggle, which will lead our country to peace, prosperity, and greatness. Together, we are going to establish social justice…make the Congo a nation, happy and free           - Patrice Emery Lumumba.

 Mission

The CIC provides a framework for the necessary exchange of ideas and different points of view about our homeland, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).  CIC provides a forum where, through the combined efforts of all involved, specific actions – peace and good governance – may be formulated and implemented.  This framework is essential in harmonizing the efforts and contributions of all Congolese and in “safeguarding” the integrity of our country.  Specific tasks or operational values and goals are outlined below:

  1. Promote social and human progress and encourage a new political culture rooted in values such as democracy, self reliance, honesty, faith, patriotism, hard work and love for one another;
  2. Raise the consciousness of the Congolese people concerning the current situation in DRC and general mobilization of the Congolese Diaspora;
  3. Call for joint action on the part of the Congolese Diaspora in support of real change in the DRC and to urgently and validly represent the country’s national interest as necessary within the international arena;
  4. Raise awareness and educate all about continuing human rights violations in DRC and mobilize support in the United States and throughout the world on behalf of Congolese people;
  5. Mobilize and shape international opinion against any threat to the  stability and integrity of the DRC;
